effluent removal

Remote toilet facilities are widely used in locations such as the Tongariro Alpine Crossing and along the Whanganui River. While these facilities operate away from conventional infrastructure, the waste they generate still needs to be removed on a regular basis.

In many of these areas, vehicle access is limited or not available. Helicopter support is often the only practical method for removing the large volumes of waste produced by trampers, tourists, and recreational users of Department of Conservation facilities.

Lakeview Helicopters has the experience, equipment, and operational capability to carry out remote sewerage removal safely and efficiently. Using proven lifting techniques and specialised equipment, our crews can extract waste from septic systems and transport it from sites where ground access is not possible.

To support this work, Lakeview Helicopters has designed and built its own purpose-built sewerage pods. These pods are fully sealed and spill-free, with a capacity of up to 1,000 litres of effluent per lift, allowing waste to be transferred directly from the holding tank to a septic tank truck at the collection point.

Waste extraction is carried out using the latest vacuum pump systems, providing controlled, efficient transfer from the facility holding tank into the pod and ensuring consistent performance in remote operating environments.

Grease traps require routine servicing to remain functional and to prevent system failure.

For remote or difficult-to-access facilities, Lakeview Helicopters provides a reliable servicing solution. We can support the controlled emptying and removal of grease trap waste using helicopter access, avoiding the need for ground-based plant or vehicle access and ensuring facilities remain operational.
