Vertical saws
Utilising Lakeview Helicopter’s highly developed Heli-Saw systems you can trim vegetation that has grown into or above transmission and distribution lines in a safe, environmentally friendly and economic way
The Lakeview Heli-Saws are the only CAA Approved Heli-Saws in New Zealand. These are certified for use under our H125 B3 and AS350 B2 helicopters. The powerful performance of these helicopters allows working without any limitations to terrain or altitude.
Lakeview Helicopters CAA Approved Stabiliser Pole system connects the saws to the helicopter with poles that gives the pilot total control of the saws by removing all rotation and turning movement of the saws vastly improving safety and controllability of the saws.
Ideal for both accessible and non-accessible terrain, a Heli-Saw operation can complete 500m to 1000m of side trimming per hour. Production will vary based upon vegetation type and field conditions. Vegetation that threatens reliability to infrastructure can be quickly and proficiently mitigated leading to significant reduction in lost time and outages.
S10 VERTICAL HELI-SAW
Our S10 Vertical Heli-Saws are specialised and proven tools manufactured for use underneath helicopters to trim hazardous trees. The S10 Vertical Heli-Saw consists of the Stabiliser Pole System. The Heli-Saw engine and variomatic drive unit, drives the 10 tungsten carbide saw blades mounted down the cnc machined spar beam. Each blade is mounted to its own helical gearbox, is driveshaft driven, with friction clutch and freewheel assembly. This is a proven and reliable design. The engine is a two-stroke air-cooled twin-cylinder rotax engine with a continuous power output of 60 hp. The saw has a fuel tank volume of approx 18 L which allows for 90 minutes of operational time. This system allows cutting branches up to 25cm in diameter. The operational length of the system from the helicopter to the bottom saw blade can be adjusted by 150ft

S2 VERTICAL HELI-SAW
This Heli-Saw was designed and built in house by Lakeview Helicopters and is known as “The Axe”. Developed for larger and tougher vegetation, The axe can trim problem trees that are inaccessible or unsafe to be dealt with by ground based operations. This Heli-Saw is a safe, environmentally friendly and economic. The S2 vertical Heli-Saw system utilises the Stabiliser Pole System which attaches the Heli-Saw to the Helicopter. The Heli-Saw engine and drive unit, drives the 2 tungsten carbide saw blades mounted vertically, Each blade is mounted to its own independent drive hub, is belt driven, with clutch and freewheel assembly. This is a proven and reliable design. The engine is a fuel injected four-stroke air-cooled v-twin engine with a continuous power output of 38 hp. The saw has a fuel tank volume of approx 20 l which allows for approximately 90 minutes of operational time. This system allows cutting of up to 40 cm in diameter. The operational length of the system from helicopter down to the saw is variable up to 150ft
